We didn’t set out to build a design studio—we followed an instinct. With years of working side by side at different firms revealed a rhythm: a shared eye, and a deep trust.

Then came an opportunity—a storefront on South Broadway—full of light and possibility. With paint, vision, and a little sage, we made it our own. What began as a creative leap has grown into a full-service design studio, rooted in 25 years of combined experience. And now, a curated storefront offering our very own collection by Smith and Drake.

Our path hasn’t been traditional. But it’s always been intentional. And even now, one belief holds true: every detail matters, and every home should feel as effortless as it does extraordinary.

KIEU NGUYEN SMITH

Principal / Co-Founder

Kieu holds a BFA in Interior Design and gained early experience in window treatments and upholstery through her family’s business. She shares in creative direction and contributes technical insight across all projects—combining her unique design instinct with a refined eye for detail and finish.

Partner / Co-Founder

KRISTIN DRAKE

With a background in Fine Art and Interior Design—and early exposure to construction through her father’s contracting business—Kristin brings both creativity and technical fluency to each project. She co-leads creative direction, shaping thoughtful, well-executed spaces from concept to completion.
