this two-year full gut remodel in Cherry Hills transformed a once-outdated residence into a sophisticated modern-style cottage infused with European charm and contemporary elegance. The Smith and Drake team took the design down to the studs, moving the clients in with just a suitcase and a few pieces of furniture, allowing for a completely turnkey design, from fully styling with accessories right down to the silverware and wastebaskets. Designed for a busy family with young children and dogs, the home was reimagined to be both beautiful and highly functional. The original layout felt dark and heavy, so the renovation focused on opening up spaces, increasing natural light, and creating a better flow throughout. This renovation also includes an addition of nearly 1,000 sq. ft for an accessory dwelling unit above the garage, transformed into a teen lounge and guest suite.

Each detail was thoughtfully curated, blending timeless character with modern touches. A rich palette of moody, natural materials such as stone, wood, and plaster— grounds the home in warmth, making it both inviting and cozy. Curated vintage pieces from renowned antique galleries such as Studio Balestra, Galerie Half, and Obsolete add layers of depth and a sense of story, while contemporary elements keep the design feeling fresh and relevant.
